Every individual has an inherent tendency to control others irrespective of s/he is powerful or not. That is why we become very happy when someone obeys our instructions and feel badly when a slight disobedience is shown. Although most of the time we can't do anything to remedy our displeasure but we demonstrate it by our behaviour.
If we agree with the above the reality we must also be aware that every individual has got her/his own intention and way of controling others. This inevidently results into conflict. And this conflict may not always be exposed but expressed in emotional outburst when occassion arises.
So, i feel it is a most intelligent to surrender our inner tendency to control others and accept whatever comes naturally in our way.

Past and Future depend on the present for their existence. Both are lost if somehow the present is lost . But the present is eternally present and does not need past or future for it's existence. Living in the present is the ultimate reality expressed as " i am just i am ."
